Weekly Speaker Series
To give our Summer Conferences team a unique perspective on different departments in higher education, the summer conference team is invited to attend lunch with a designated speaker. Each week a different member from campus talks to the team about their profession, why they chose that career, and what lessons they have learned. The format is an informal lunch with the speaker which allows for open discussion. The campus members can include the Vice President of Campus and Student Life, Catering Managers, Residence Hall Managers, Facility Managers and Police Officers. It provides the summer conference team with an interesting and engaging way to learn about higher education and campus operations.
Weekly Professional Development Series
Each week the Summer Conference team spends 1-2 hours participating in a professional development session. The professional development sessions are aimed to build the summer conference team’s skills in many different areas including: communication, public speaking, stress management, trends in the conference industry, job searching and resume building as well as interview practice.
